Wakazi mamia waliohudhuria onyesho la Parapanda katika tamasha kubwa la Utamaduni la swideni wameshitushwa na kiwango cha sanaa kilichoonyeshwa na wasanii nane wa Parapanda na Mswidi mmoja. Shangwe na chereko zilimeza uwanja huo wakati wasanii hawa alipokuwa wakiunga kazi moja baada ya nyingine.

Onyesho hilo limefanyika jioni saa 11.30 hadi saa 12.00 juu ya alama mbele ya umati ambao uliomba kurudiwa kwa onyesho lakini  kwakweli isingewezekana ikiwa kuna vikundi zaidi ya kumi vinasubiri! Hili lilikuwa ni onyesho la kutambulisha  onyesho kubwa la NATIGONE litakalofunguliwa rasmi hapa tarehe 8 Oktoba

 Baadhi ya wasanii wa kundi mahiri la sanaa nchini Tanzania, Parapanda Theatre Lab, wakiwa jukwaani Sweden tayari kwa kuonyesha igizo la ANTIGONE ambapo kwa mara ya kwanza litaigizwa kwa lugha ya Kiswahili.

 Msanii Frank Samatwa(aliyeshika zeze) akionyesha umahiri wake katika kupiga zeze la kigogo wakati Parapanda ilipoonyesha igizo la ANTIGONE nchini Sweden. Pembeni yake ni Eva Nyambe na Amani Lukuli.

"Hata waTanzania tunaweza kupiga Djembe"-Daudi, msanii wa Parapanda akionyesha ufundi wake na ubunifu katika kuipiga ngoma ya Djembe yenye asili ya Afrika Magharibi wakati wa ziara yao nchini Sweden. Nyuma yake ni Shabo akimsindikiza kwa ngoma.

CLASSICAL GREEK TRAGEDY “ANTIGONE” COMES TO TANZANIA

The production is a joint venture between Tanzania’s longstanding theatre company, Parapanda Theatre Lab and Gothenburg City Theater. This partnership goes back to 2004 and since then there have been a number of workshops and exchanges and the two theatrical institutes. The team have now reached a point where they are embarking on a cutting edge production which marries interpretations from both Swedish and Tanzanian.  The seeds of what is expected to be a vibrant production were planted in 2009 with meetings and further discussions held in May this year.

1997 Two video films were produced under sponsorship BAWATA: HAKI

YANGU (My rights) and HARUSI YA KIPIPA (Kipipa’s wedding)



2001: A Film on poverty reduction was produced in collaboration with the Economic Social Research Foundation. (ESRF)

OUR PROFILE: RADIO PLAY

1998: Parapanda Arts in collaboration with UN refugee’s Organization UNHCR produced a 20 minutes radio play called MKIMBIZI, which was aired by Radio Tanzania Dar Es Salaam. The play was to campaign for peace as a way of solving the refugee’s problem in Africa.



2000: Production of 26 episodes for Radio Theatre on Civic Education for 2000 General election.



2003 Production of 42 episodes for Radio Theatre on Civic education. Baragumu la Haki.

OUR PROFILE: Training on Children and Youth Theatre

PTLT has organized a number of training workshops on Children and Youth Theatre

1996 Conducted a theatre workshop for 80 children from four primary schools in Ilala district. Establishment of School Health Clubs followed the workshop. Plan International funded the workshop.



1999. Conducted a participatory theatre workshop for three primary schools in Kinondoni and Temeke Municipalities. The workshop focused on children health with emphasis on school environment as a source of health hazards



2000. Workshop on Children theatre for eight Primary school teachers from four Plan supported schools. The workshop focused on Creation Process of children Theatre and management of Children Theatre Groups.



2000 Conducted Children Theatre Festival during African Child Day



2002 Conducted a study on Child Rights using Community theatre Approach in Morogoro Rural and Kinondoni.



2005 Trained Interactive Theatre in Shangilia Mtoto wa Africa Nairobi Kenya. The center is for vulnerable children.

2006 Conducted theatre training for Young people in ISHI programme on interactive Theatre.
